Binge Watching.

SO, I have been doing a lot of binge watching lately due to being sick and generally having a bit of a shit time.

I am a big horror fan, BUT, I think it is actually really hard to be a horror fan. Most horrors are shit.

I mean Paranormal Activity started out looking promising...then they gave it a story line. I know this sounds ridiculous but I hate that it had a story line. I mean, I think it would have just been so much scarier if they were just haunted. You know what I mean? Things are so much scarier when there is no explanation and stuff is just happening. Yeah, it was attached to her and that's fine, but could it not have just attached itself to her because it's an evil demon and can? It couldn't just pick her and that be that? Ugh, there was so much room for my imagination to run wild with that but the story line ruined it for me. Bad times.

I did watch The Possession Of Michael King the other day with my mate, he thought it was pretty scary, and it kinda was....until like 3/4 of the way in. I don't wanna ruin this for you so I won't, but once again, if I had just seen whatever happening and didn't hear it too, it would have been much scarier. I did think it was alright though.

Obviously this is just my opinion and I can scare the crap out of myself pretty easily if I want to, but horror films lack that for me. Once you clarify that there is a justified reason for these 'happenings' shall we say? then I lose all interest and you just ruined the whole movie for me, it's not longer scary.

I understand this doesn't work for everything. Like The Conjuring, watched it soooo many times and I think it's actually pretty decent but why couldn't it just be like 'Oh, this house has evil spirits in it'....etc, I don';t need to know why they're there or about curses just OMG THIS IS HAPPENING WHAAAAAAT??? Mad, how scary.

I don't know. I am in no way a film expert. I just think I would like to finish a film sometime still being scared and playing parts over and over in my head when I go to bed and thinking about what else could have happened?? You know?

Anyway.

All About Evil. Not a horror as such. Well yeah, I guess it kind of fits into Comedy Horror. I seriously LOVE this film. I obviously don't watch it to get scared but hey, Natasha Lyonne is in it (I ADORE her), and I just think it has a really cool old school feel about it! Even the colours and the setting have that old horror vibe.

I have also become addicted to Parks and Recreation. I mean addicted. I love it. It never fails to make me laugh. The Pawnee Zoo ep has to be my favourite so far!! I just love Amy Poehler so, so much. Aubrey Plaza is hiarious in it too, her character doesn't really do much in the first season but she gets so much better!!

Also loving Banged Up Abroad. This is my mates doing. He's been watching it again and now that it's on youtube it's always there so if I'm bored I'll shove one on. It makes me so angry though, because Everyone's like 'OMG it must be so horrible being locked up abroad and the prisons must be awful' but er....like 75% of the time, it's like, 'Well, maybe don't do shit you know is illegal??'. Snakes on a Plane. What an ep. I fumed through this whole episode and literally would punch this guy if I saw him. Unlikely, but I would.

Anything you've been loving lately???

Insomia and TV

Well, I'm back to not sleeping very much at all ....SO.... I've been catching up on a looooad of TV shows and I thought I'd share my faves!!

I've become obsessed with  My Mad Fat Diary on E4. And yes, it is for blatantly obvious reasons. I feel like I can relate to Rae's character a lot.
I love the way she thinks about things and the way she talks about things.
Then there's the whole Rae & Finn thing.
I am in love with Nico Mirallegro. Like, I love him. I don't even care. I just do.

And then there's the soundtrack!!! It's like listening to my childhood!!! AMAZING.

Then there's Parenthood.

What a cast!! I absolutely adore this show, I don't know anybody else that watches it but I love it.

I'm a huge fan of Lauren Graham and Mae Whitman and the fact they're mother and daughter just puts the icing on the cake!

I'm now caught up on all five seasons!! If you want a show to watch that will make you laugh and cry and wish you had a big family then this is the one!

Revenge.

I know, I know, I'm late to the party at Grayson Manor but hey! at least I showed up!!

I decided to give this a go on a whim while I was waiting for Pretty Little Liars to come back on and I got sucked straight in!

I can't even give you a reason why I like it. It's so absurd. but I do!

The Haunting Of....

I love anything about ghosts and hauntings etc. I have ever since I was a little kid. Anything that makes me feel a little nervy or unsettled is great!
I love Kim Russo (@THEHAPPYMEDIUM on twitter) who is a phychic medium and she takes celebrities back to the place they had a paranormal experience and she invesigates what happened and if there are still spirits around.

Obviously this won't be everyone's cup of tea but I think she's the sweetest!! ...and yes, I've watched EVERY episode.

Pretty Little Liars

This is an obvious one. I've watched this since the very first episode aired and as much as it's doing my nut in at the minute, I can't stop watching because it'll drive me crazy if I find out who 'A' is on twitter or something. I'll have to witness it with my own eyes after investing this much time!

True Detective

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson????

What's not to love??? It's kind of like a film that was just waayyyy too long so they've chopped it up! It's a gritty, serial killer, detective series and I love it!

I have been watching more but I don't want to make this too long! Maybe I'll do another one sometime or with the films I watch when I can't sleep!

Now, go grab a cup of tea - "tea fixes everything", as Finn says ;) and get comfy and check them out!!

Let me know what you think!!

Home & Away

So, I'm feeling a little glum lately. I keep catching colds so I'm always sick and feeling crap and find myself curled up in my pj's watching the soaps with my sister.

I am addicted to Home & Away. Seriously though, some of the girls in that show definitely make me want to get off my bum and go to the gym and eat better!!! I am seriously lacking that motivation right now, and am not comfortable in my size 12 jeans, I'm only 5'1 and it just doesn't feel right. I must admit though, I love having a bum...boobs not so much! haha.

Just thought I'd share my three fave girls from the show! - Yes, I know how sad I am posting about a soap but I definitely need a holiday in summer looking more like this haha! This is a motivational post for myself really!!

Samara Weaving who plays Indi Walker is just super gorgeous like, in a model kind of perfect way.

Demi Harman who plays Sasha Bezmel, Indi's half sister, she is so gorgeous and so adorable! I love the retro, quirky kind of style she has.

And the there is Rhiannon Fish. This girl is unreal, like she is just one of those people who would look still perfect and flawless in a bin bag!!

I am going to look at this post daily and get off the couch, even if it's for a quick walk!!

But yeah, if you love a bit of drama and good looking girls...and boys of course, I say give it a go!!

Too many girl crushes to be had!! haha!!

Who are your girl crushes??!!

Girl Crush #2..... Kat Dennings

Kat Dennings.

Love this girl.

She's kinda gothy looking and has real boobs and most of the time, dresses them well, which I can never be bothered trying to do so she gets brownie points because she inspires me to consider boob dresses.

I remember watching a show when I was a kid called 'Raising Dad'...I think that's what it was called and that's where I first saw her.....Pretty sure she had the same name as me in it too!

I love her style and just saw her at the Emmy's looking absolutely freaking ridiculously good!

I can't work her out, I think that's why I like her.... she intrigues me.... but yeah, I love that dress in the second picture!
