The Wanderer Returns...

So, I'm back from my travels.....and I'm kinda glad to be honest. I missed my bed and I don't do well sunbathing and the like. I mean, I was in Dubai for nearly two months and wasn't bored once but real 'holidays' where my mum goes to relax, stress me out so bad. I can't sit still and end up walking around by myself or sitting on the balcony reading and listening to music, so I always feel like it's wasted on me.

It was lovely though, I love Protaras in Cyprus, I've been twice before and will definitely be going again.

Anywhere with Greek food is fine by me. I love all the ancient Greek history and all the mythology and all of that, I've been obsessed with it since I was a kid. I always feel sad when I go to Cyprus though and we go on the Aphrodite boat trip and look at Famagusta (The Ghost Town), from miles away. Makes me really sad that those poor people just got turfed out of their own homes and have never returned. Sucks, what a waste. It's not used for anything, it's just empty, so how pointless and ridiculous??!!

I do love looking at it though, it's kind of eerie and always seems to look like it has a black cloud over it and all the buildings are dark which is really weird because all along the coast it white and cream and blue but as you scan along the coast line, that part is grey and dark. weird.

I know you can go into Famagusta and look around, but I don't think I would.

Yeah, so, anyway, I always get distracted, it's quite annoying, but yes, it was lovely, I love the beach and the sea and all that, I just can't sit there all day and  bake I get all fidgety and restless, and hyper and really annoying to whoever I'm with, but I can't help it. So we went the beach more than we normally do, and the pool a lot less than we usually do, I must admit I liked the sea a lot more than the pool this time round...was wayyy warmer!!

We also did a lot of walking around and eating - of course! I think I went into every single souvenir shop on the strip every night looking for something to get for my friend, because I told her I'd bring her something back, and I'm normally great at getting little bits for people but I didn't find a thing I liked enough to buy her, which was annoying.

I had some amaaaazing food out there, I definitely put on far too many holiday lbs!! haha oh well, I enjoyed every bite!! I had stifado, kleftico, moussaka and tzatzsiki ( spelling?). I am obsessed with Greek food. It's just sooooo good!!! Greek bread is pretty awesome too, especially Greek Pitta. YUM.

Also, loooads of drinks! I had a mango and passion fruit daiquiri whoch I've never had before but it was ridiculous, then we went to a little mexican place and got frozen margaritas which I normally love but I could not for the life of me drink it! It nearly blew my socks off! It was sooo strong and I can't drink tequila unless it's flavoured or a frozen margarita. I could have been a fire breather after that one! My mum drank it though!! haha

The cocktails are super cheap over there and my best friend's last day there was my first day so it was awesome that we got to spend the afternoon drinking cocktails together because she was the first person I went there with! We ended up talking about all sorts of stuff, the way you do when you've had a few too many, and we got talking about an old friend, so we sent her a text and arranged a night out for tomorrow, and I am really excited to see her. Weird how fast time can go by and you lose touch with people. It should be a super fun night because we used to be the three musketeers and we shall be reunited once again! yay!!

My Mum's birthday is on the 7th of this month and she said because we got her so much for mothers day she didn't want a big fuss, so of course we couldn't not do anything so we thought we'd celebrate over there, so we took her to a posh restaurant and then for frozen cocktails in a swanky little lounge/bar thing (which turned out to be stupidly cheap) and then we took her for breakfast and a boat trip the next day. It was really nice actually, even though my brother wasn't there with us! I wouldn't mind celebrating her birthday there every year! haha! She had a nice time anyway so that was good!!

But yeah, came back to rain, wind and cold........ and its friggin' great!!! :)

Went out looking for boots today and got so excited about the weather and starting college soon!!

I think I've rambled a tad bit there...so here's some pics instead....

Will do a separate outfit post tomorrow!!

Holiday Blues...

Packing is always a pain, although, I kind of love it.

I've decided this year, I'm not going to take loads, I normally take like, my whole wardrobe and the kitchen sink too!! Not this time.

Going to take some bits that I can wear with different things!!

Shorts obviously, I think shorts are going to me my priority, then I'll just shove in some crop tops and tshirts and vests for by the pool and going out. Got my *gulp* swimwear ready. I HATE bikini's and I have only one matching one, so I have a plain black top and different bottoms, and I have a red and white stripey top too, so we'll see how we go because I also have two one-pieces which I will probably try stick to, because I was doing so well and hit my target weight and as soon as I did, for some reason, couldn't stop eating so I'm not feeling too great about getting into a bikini, but its ok, because I'm taking a leopard sheer oversized blouse and a black and white stripey kimono thingymabob to wear over them.

I'm really not a dressing up kind of girl, I mean, I like dressing up on occasion, and I love getting ready, but I suppose I would say my style is more comfortable and laid back, and my leather jacket goes with everything. that's like my one rule. So, this means I wont be taking any form of heels on holiday with me, why be uncomfortable when you're meant to be relaxing?? So it's converse all the way, and some sandals.

I put together some ideas last night before I got into bed....

So I'm hoping if I just shove a dress or two in and some more tops I'll be all good! Wow, those converse could do with a trip to the washing machine. They used to be white!!! haha!!

Any holiday packing tips?? Anyone??

Holiday Face!

So I’m going on holiday in 3 weeks and need to sort out my holiday/sun products!!
This is always stress. I’m quite fair skinned and can’t deal with sunburn at all so I wear SPF 50 all the time. Even here in dull old England, if it’s a little bit sunny.
I’ve got my sun cream sorted but make up is a nightmare for holidays.

I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation when I’m here and I used to use Lorac ProtecTINT tinted moisturiser when I was away but I ran out last year and my Aunty hasn’t been to America this year so I haven’t been able to stock up.

My mum picked me up a Stila tinted moisturiser SPF 30 which I’m hoping will do the trick as I don’t like wearing heavy make up in the heat, and it will just end up a waste and sliding off anyway.
I think I’m going to stick to my rose Vaseline for my lips for a little bit of colour and I think its SPF 15?

I never know whether to use a bronzer or blusher when I’m away, my sister uses bronzer but she’s got a more olive tone to her skin and dark eyes so it looks fine on her. If I’ve kept on top of the old fake tan then it looks ok, but if I’m honest I’m kind of lazy, so most of the time that doesn’t happen, but then I can never decide on a peachy toned blusher or a dolly pink (which I wear everyday).
I suppose I’ll have to see how I go with the tan!

I’m going to take some lashes away with me this time because for some reason mascara always tries to run away from my eyelashes and just ends up sitting on my cheeks about 5 minutes after I’ve put it on. My favourite ones at the minute are just from Home & Bargain, they’re by Dimples and are £1.99 for 2 pairs!! They’re pretty natural looking too, which I like for holiday, I can’t stand the thought of being caked in make up in the warm weather.

I have really dry skin too, so I need to start drinking wayyy more water than I have been. Does anyone else find it hard to drink loads of water?...or just me?...

Well yeah, my skin is stupidly dry, so dry that I sleep with Vaseline on my face at night ( and also on my feet with fresh clean socks because it makes them baby soft!) and then have to apply some moisturiser before I put make up on if it’s feeling ok, if not I have to put bio oil on before my make up, which isn’t ideal because, well, because it’s oil!

My best friend gave me the Olay beauty fluid which I think is really good before I apply my make up, but she also bought me a Frankincense and Rose face cream which is soooo thick and luxurious feeling  and smells amazing! She says it works wonders so I’ll have to give it a proper go!

My mum however, insists I use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. I do love it, but to be honest, I don’t usually spend that much on products like that. I do get it as a gift for birthdays and christmas though, so I use it when I have it and would definitely recommend it!

I actually found that Superdrug do their own hot cloth cleanser and vitamin E range. I tried the ‘Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser’ and it was great! It came in a box with a muslin cloth and it worked really well and my face felt so nice after using it and it is a total steal at £5.99!!

I might buy the whole range when I don’t have any Liz Earle left and try it all out.

I am a fan of hot cloth cleansers though, I feel like they really do clean your face and leave it feeling fresh!
